Shadow Sight: Ivy Granger, Psychic Detective Series by EJ Stevens #Audiobook

Shadow Sight: Ivy Granger, Psychic Detective Series by EJ Stevens #Audiobook

PJV Quickie: E.J. Stevens did a great job creating a unique Urban Fantasy world with the start of her Ivy Granger, Psychic Detective series. I think I actually enjoyed the book more because I got to experience the audiobook. Traci Odom’s narration took awhile to get used to, but in the end it worked and I found myself really enjoying the story.

The Young World by Chris Weitz

PJV Quickie:THE YOUNG WORLD by Chris Weitz is one of those books that in your head, you know it is Ridiculous – you caught my capitol R on that one? – but you find the novel entertaining to read. Or at least I did.  From the overdone premise, to obvious inspiration from classic YA dystopian novels, to teens all talking like college age hipsters trying to impress one another with their intellect –…

PJV Quickie: I’ve consistently rated this series 4 stars, and Shatter is no different.  I love NA stories, and Erin McCarthy spins an entertaining tale – kind of dark but hopeful, with characters who don’t give up when life gets hard.  I’m sorry this is the last book in the series, as it was a series I really enjoyed.

#BB101 – Ms. Manners – Blogger Social Etiquette

In yesterday’s post, we discussed what pisses us off as bloggers. It’s easy to see the final result. The point at which someone is pulling out their hair in frustration because – some unknowing person stepped into a pile of social faux pas. Sometimes though, it’s not always apparent when the ball first begins to roll. Most of the real damage comes when other bloggers doing things intentionally,…

Happy Labor Day: Eight Ways to Read Instead of Working

Happy Labor Day: Eight Ways to Read Instead of Working

We’ve all done it. C’mon admit it. You’ve done it. Your co-worker probably taught you how to do it, no scratch that – you probably learned how to do it in high school. Wait – er – grammar school…and you’ve been perfecting the art ever since. The art of the “sneaky reader.”  Getting away with reading while you work. A must have skill for the avid reader.

There have been many a book, that I had to…
